About the author

Lidia V Santos' current literary production is focused on her cosmopolitan experience.  She has just finished a book about an auto-biographical experience: the recovery from a broken ankle in Manhattan during the Sandy hurricane episode.  In humorous prose, the book weaves Barack Obama's re-election, the hurricane experience, and her broken body within the context of the shut down metropolis as seen through her West Village neighborhood.

She is currently working on a novel where the main characters, travel through time from the 19th century to the Rio de Janeiro, Manhattan and Europe of today.

Lidia V Santos was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she began her academic and literary career, and moved to New Haven, CT in 1995.  She was a literature professor at Yale University and CUNY Graduate Center,  and is now a full-time author.
